Rendu – Twin Masala
Director Sundar . C who has always toed his pedestrian line for spoofy rib ticklers implementing from diffrent formulas, successfully come up with a winning tag. This time too he has striked the right chord making the strategy work remaining retro parade of MGR twin formula story.
The tittle carries the movie between two diffrent alook alike characters. One going amok to tit the baddies while the other turning out to be a scape goat. Maddy in dual role is flanked by two charmers Reema sen and debutant beau Anushka.
The first half of the film cherishes you with lots of laughters evoking inn with Vadivelu potraying a sorccerer in exhibition with the company of his nephew Madhavan. It has enough comic antics and Vadivelu’s perfect punch line to keep all the audience stick onn to their seats. Even this time too the combo of Sundar . C and Vadivelu has created magic at the box office.
The story begins with Sakthi(Madhavan), who hunts for job stays with his uncle Karikalan(Vadivelu), a magician in chennai and bumps into Valli(Reema Sen), who works in exhibition doing few tricks. Initially going grucho marx with him later she silently sets her heart on him and romance develops between two. Meantime, a sudden twist in the turn unexpected fatal tolls in the state and the Crime branch Officer(Baghyaraj) sets out in search of victim. Innocent Shakthi is convicted and kept in dark cell.
Now enters the true perpetrator Kannan(Madhavan). Confessing that he is murderer, saves Sakthi from the captives. He narrates his family story and the reason for his revenge. All boils later forms the climax with a tragedy and happy ending.
Maddy has given some thunderous performance balancing in dual role as innocent and brutal way. While Reema and Anushka sizzle on screen appearing in scanty wears with too many duets (AH AH AH ITZ TIME TO YAWN)… Vadivelu mimicking skills as magic man help take the story forward with lots of claps and the another surprise show man is Santhanam with his perfect comic timing and funny lines evokes some stomach cramps. Also other cast includes Mannivannan, Mayilsamy fits the bill. Imman’s music is just passable. Stunt sequences by Thalapathy Dinesh and Camera work by M.Prasad is praise worthy.
Sundar . C has uncorked another light hearted comedy clear winner at the ticket windows.
