Nyabagam Varuthe - Tamil Movie Review

February - 10 - 2008

Like his earlier release ‘Vasantham Vanthachu, this film too attempts to capitalise on Venkat Prabhu’s new found fame after ‘Chennai - 28′ Brought out of the cans after about two years, this film is yet another embarrassment for the actor.

Centered on a love triangle, the players here are Ramu, Babu and Kavita. Ramu loves Kavita whom he has known since childhood. His sister was working as a domestic help in Kavita’s house, and had married her father after the death of his wife. So Ramu had much reason to be obligated to the family. So when Kavita’s marriage is finalised with Babu, her visually challenged cousin (Charan), Ramu steps aside. How the triangle is resolved forms the rest of the script.

Venkat Prabhu goes overboard here with his expressions, his monkey-acts and antics an
embarrassment to watch. The later part sees him a bit more controlled. Charan makes heavy weather of his blind guy act.

Suha seems a promisng find, tryng to make the best of the situation. There’s nothing much here that’s exciting or novel, either in scripting or narrative style, that would engage a viewer.
