Bollywood star Aamir Khan has something different to celebrate now and that’s for his new avatar of turning into director and producer. Yes, of course he has a definite reason he can exuberate for the film turning out to be a good hit.
Let’s take a short glimpse on what’s Taare Zameen Par all about… Precisely, the film deals with present situation of day-to-day’s life how family bonding is shattered due to their concern for earning wealth. Getting on to the film, its about an eight year old boy Ishaan Awasthi (Darsheel Safary) who has great hurdle of getting on with an ordinary world of anything. With many complaints sprouted on him, his parents get him admitted in a boarding school. Over here, nothing compliments this kid for he keeps facing the same sort of problems again and again. Teachers and none of his classmates have affectionate concern towards him.
Now arrives Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan) as a temporary art teacher for the boarding school. Ram remains unique with his perceptional approach of teaching children something out of blue. Getting to know about Ishaa’s problem, he takes extra-care and gets the child break the hurdle that hassles him in this world. Also he makes his parents and teachers understand that the kid is not an abnormal child, but is a very special child with talents of his own. Getting on with valuating the film, first we would say ‘Hats off to Aamir for an excellent flick’. The story is something exceptional to deal with but it’s very well-known for all of us. Handling such a delicate script with preciseness wins him the laurels and critical acclaims. It is not just about a child adhered with some problems, but its about the childishness we all have hidden in ourselves. Everyone in this world posses some talents and also the fact that we all have some inabilities. It’s also about how parents get carried away by today’s competitive world and fail to understand their child’s dreams and nurture their inborn talents.
Unlike any other enlightening entertainer which focuses more on the hero, Aamir has given the child more footage and captured every emotion deftly thereby focusing on its root cause and maintaining its significance throughout the movie. A number of sequences leave you moist eyed and you feel deeply attached to the child. At the end of the movie you are left speechless and spellbound. Music by Shanker – Ehsaan - Loy is great and lyrics by Prasoon Joshi are brilliant, they blend well with the movie.
However the movie is not without its share of flaws. The editing could have been tighter; it tends to drag a bit while being repetitive at times. A few cinematic liberties have been taken too, like how can the child venture out of the boarding school at night?
Darsheel Safary, the new kiddy does it all superb in his first movie. Aamir Khan looks more for the role, but for his fans its quite disappointing for they don’t see him in the first half Tisca Chopra is good. Vipin Sharma overacts a bit.
On the whole, Taare Zameen Par can be compared to that of a rare pearl. With commercial movies dominating the industry, films like this a great relief for masses who are diehard fans of pure cinema. The movie is sure to be liked by families of all centres and Aamir does it all with a stunning effort.
Not alone for a critical rave review, but the movie is sure to win the commercial market..
