Rachel is an Assistant Manager in Bank. Her husband Louis is an engineer. A little baby boy is born to them, and the couple’s joy is unbounded. Before the child is a year old, Rachel becomes pregnant again. A friend of hers advises abortion. Though Louis was against it, he succumbs to Rachel’s persuasion and the baby is aborted. After the deed is done however, Rachel is filled with remorse.
Anaamika, meaning the nameless one, is a film that speaks out boldly against abortion, one of the most rampant evils of today’s society. It is also a sad commentary on today’s nuclear family that is driven solely by its own selfish concerns. Anaamika is a woman dominated movie, with Samvritha Sunil playing the lead role of Rachel. The film is slated for immediate release.
