Ajantha close to illayaraja’s heart

February - 19 - 2008

Director Rajpa Ravishankar’s Ajantha will hit the floors this March. The movie has a musical score by Ilayaraja. Ajantha is bieng made in four South Indian languages concurrently. The music composer has come up with nine different songs in each language. A total of 36 songs were composed by Ilayaraja for the film. The lyrics are by Mu Metha, Muthulingam, Pa Vijay and Snehan. The movie features Ramana in the lead role. A debutant Vandhana Gupta plays his heroine. Pandiarajan, Manobala, Sreeman are also in the cast. The innovative storyline and Ilayaraja’s musical score are the major highlights of my movie. Plans are on to release the movie next month. Efforts are on to come out with the Hindi version of Ajantha soon. Ilayaraja though he has composed music for 850 films in various languages, Ajantha will be close to his heart. He had come out with tunes which are quite different from that in contemporary music and he is hopeful the audience laps it up. The other credits are Ilavarasu, Kadha Ganesan (cinematography), Sivashankar, John Babu, Senthamarai (choreography) and Jayashankar (editing).
