Jyothirmayi as Buddhist mendicant

Theatre director G. Ajayan is making his foray into films with Bodhi, based on a chapter from Prof. Lakshmi Narasu’s book “The Essence of Buddhism” and inspired from Kumaranasan’s ‘Chandalabhikshuki’ and Rabindranath Tagore”s ‘Chadalika’. Set against the background of Buddhism, the movie delves into issues like casteism.

Basu Irumpanam produces the movie starring Sreenivasan, Murali, Manjulan, Tom George, Nilambur Ayesha and Salimkumar. Jyothirmayi plays the female lead. Reportedly, she plays the role of a Buddhist mendicant named Maatangi.
