World Movies, India’s only international movie channel from the house of UTV, brings you the “World Movies Platinum Collection”, starting this April.

World Movies Platinum Collection will leave viewers enthralled with contemporary, entertaining award winners from around the world and includes The Counterfeiters from Austria – the Oscar winner for Best Foreign Language Film 2008, Twilight Samurai from Japan -the Oscar Nominee for Best Foreign Language Film 2004, Zelary from Czech Republic -the Oscar Nominee for Best Foreign Language Film 2004, Hidden Blade from Japan nominated for Berlin Golden Bear 2005, the Oscar winner Frida which also got Salma Hayek an Oscar nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role, the Iranian film Crimson Gold which won a Cannes Jury Award in 2003, the Spanish film Buenos Aires that was nominated for the Golden Palm at Cannes in 2006, and many more. “This is only the beginning”, says Dilshad Master, “there are many many more gems in this rare collection – and there isn’t enough space on this page!” World Movies Platinum Collection will also feature films from the absolute masters – Truffaut, Kieslowski, Kurosawa, Luc Besson and many others. Apart from World Movies Platinum Collection, World Movies is also introducing three new time slots starting in April. Monday Night Comedies on Mondays at 8:30 PM will feature the most hilarious, whacky and priceless moments of comedy from around the world. From Queens – the Spanish comedy about five headstrong mothers coping with the personal family conflicts surrounding the impending marriages of their gay sons to the surreal slapstick, romp and romantic French comedy Black Cat, White Cat, World Movies will enable you to laugh away your Monday morning blues! 

Also, to bring in the holiday season, World Movies is introducing Great Destinations on Wednesdays at 8:30 pm, showcasing the world’s finest getaways from Canada to Australia, Asia to Africa, Europe to Middle East. Viewers can watch the world through World Movies and even decide on the right destination for their vacation! 

Thursday Thrillers on Thursdays at 8:30 PM will capture your attention and freeze your senses. From Koma a Cantonese thriller about kidney theft to Eye In The Sky about a Hong Kong police surveillance unit that tracks its prey silently, to the Spanish film on the occult The Hidden, to the French thriller Money, Thursday Thrillers promises viewers bone-chilling nights of pure thrill.
