‘Sarkar Raj’ to be premiered at IIFA

April - 10 - 2008

Ram Gopal Varma ’s sequel to Sarkar – Sarkar Raj – starring Bollywood mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan , son Abhishek Bachchan and gorgeous daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be premiered at International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) to be held in Bangkok.

‘Sarkar Raj’ will be premiered at IIFA a few days before its commercial release on June 6.

The fact that Bachchan is the Brand Ambassador of IIFA, Varma says it would be appropriate to premiere it there.

For most of the film, real-life couple Abhishek and Ash play adversaries and opponents in business and morality rather than partners.

The Big B’s character in ‘Sarkar Raj’ goes into the shadows as Abhishek takes over the empire.

The film has Ash playing a manipulative and ruthless businesswoman who doesn’t care to bend the rules to make money from the people.

On the other hand, Abhishek’s character has shades of philanthropy. He, too, makes money, but for the people and not from them.

Varma says ‘Sarkar Raj’ is a bigger film than its prequel. The movie doesn’t carry the old story forward, but takes a look at another episode in the Nagare family’s life.
