Aspiring models are unhappy about film celebs stealing their thunder.
The recent Lakme fashion week saw Bollywood making its presence felt big time. Either film celebs were walking the ramp or were giving bytes to the media or rooting for their favourite designer!
The industry has heard several people complaining about the focus being on the stars rather than the actual clothes and the designs.
Maybe the designers think that having such show- stoppers helps to quickly shift focus from the gaudy dresses and the blunders they create!
The hot buzz, caught up with some models to find out their views on the same.
But it appears that they have become too touchy about the whole issue. Carol Gracious the ‘Big Boss‘ runners-up blatantly said, “I don‘t want to quote on this matter.”
Indrani Dasgupta another well- known ramp scorcher said, “I would n‘t like to quote. I may lose my job.”
Feeling the heat, huh girls! The world understands, though. Nobody welcomes such untoward competition!
Tapur Chatterjee however was more forthcoming. She said, “Its better if you ask the designers. We are just happy doing our work. Who comes and goes doesn‘t matter to us.”
So, any guesses? that these breed has to live with the fact that India‘s fashion industry can‘t stand on its own feet without Bollywood. It‘s a big blow considering that India has scope to grow in fashion and set the international runways on fire!
But the designers are not interested in doing so and continue to cash in on star presence. As if the world begins and ends with Bollywood!
