‘Wanted: Dead and Alive’ thats the up-coming movie starring Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia in lead roles is a remake of the Tamil blockbuster “Pokriâ€. Other than Salman and Ayesha, Om Puri, Mahesh Manjrekar and Sayaji Shinde will be sharing screen space. The choreography department of the movie has been taken over by dancer, actor and choreographer Prabhu Deva and his brother Raju Sunderam.
The music of the movie is being handled by Sajid-Wajid who have earlier worked on the music of Khan’s throtlling hits such as “Pyar Kiya to Darna Kya†“Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, “Tere Naam†(sharing their billing with Himesh Reshammiya)
Producer Boney Kapoor had bought the remake rights and signed on Prabhu Deva for Director and Choreographer. Originally, Southern bee Asin, was slated to reprise her female lead from the Tamil version but due to her dates booked for Kamal’s Dasavatharam and Aamir’s Ghajini, she dropped out the project. Finally, Boney Kapoor signed on the bubbly Ayesha Takia for female lead as he was applauded by her performance in Dor.
Ayesha Takia is the concluding search result to Boney Kapoor’s relentless quest for heroine to star opposite dapper looking Khan. Boney considered Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut, Jiah Khan but Ayesha, was finally taken for the role in the film. Both these superstars are blazing the wide screen together for the first time. They do make a good pair as both hold innocence and cuteness all over. The breathtaking backdrop perfectly compliments the dazzling first time pairing.
This hugely mounted film is about an undercover cop,potrayed by Salman, who works for a mafia don. His aim is to eliminate the gangsters by being a part of them. Salman plays the lead role in the film. Om Puri and Mahesh Manjrekar also among the cast. Music by Sajid-Wajid is definitely going to be a plus point considering their last outing Partner with Salman is still blaring from all quarters. ‘Wanted… Sallu, at the earliest’!
