Bhale Dongalu - Telugu Movie Review

April - 19 - 2008

Director Vijayabhaskar, who gave big hits like ‘Nuvve Kaavaali’, ‘Nuvvu Naaku Nachav’ and ‘Manmadhudu’, again came before the Telugu audiences with ‘Bhale Dongalu’. Tarun, who made a comeback after a long gap, failed to reach the expectations of the audiences with his last film, with Ileana in the female lead.

Ramu (Tarun) somehow completes his B.Com, but doesn’t want to do a job. He had plans to start some business, which his father (Chandramohan), who is just a school teacher, unable to afford. On the other side, Jyothi (Ileana) wants to become a model. However, her grandmother (Annapurna) wants to perform her marriage. Both of them leave their houses separately and meet in a train and travel together to Vizag. They lose their luggage and money. Being cheated, they decide to cheat others. They turn Romeo and Juliet and implement their plan. They earn money by cheating others and also by stealing costly articles. While travelling from Vizag to Hyderabad, they meet a girl suffering from kidney problem. After reaching Hyderabad, they continue their thefts. DCP Yugandhar (Jagapatibabu) gets appointed to trace Romeo and Juliet. After some time Romeo and Juliet decide to stop cheating and stealing, and start some business. By that time they come to know that the girl whom they met in the bus needs help for treatment. Romeo takes a daring step and cheats Veerraju (Pradeep), who is in the narcotics business. Veerraju pays Rs 20 lakhs to Romeo and soon learns that he was cheated. Did Veerraju keep quiet? Did the DCP was able to trace Romeo and Juliet? What kind of twists Romeo and Juliet face in their lives? Answers to all the questions form part of climax.

Tarun improved in acting and showed good comedy timing. Ileana too looked beautiful in all kinds of outfits. Director showed her romantic way but in a decent way instead of showing her skin and tummy button. Jagapatibabu’s gave a memorable performance and the action scenes choreographed for him are stylish. Pradeep Rawat, Chandramohan and others are at their best. Comedy by Brahmanandam and Dharmavarapu is good to watch.

Screenplay by Vijayabhaskar is adequate though it is the remake of a Bollywood film. Canning of songs is nice. Music by KM Radhakrishnan is average.

Even Though Tarun had no notable hits in the recent past at last, Movie had good openings because Lucky Heroin Ileana worked with Tarun, First half of the movie Adequate, Second Half should have been better, if season may help it will going to Average if not, One more Flop being in Tarun’s Carrier.
