Not every debutant does extraordinarily well. Neither is every debut film a hit. Every star sons who had disastrous debuts But Mimoh Chakraborty’s first film Jimmy was worse than a disaster. And the repercussions are now being felt by Salim Akhtar, the producer of his next film The Murderer.
The film, directed by Raj N Sippy, was supposed to be Mimoh’s first according to a source from the production house. “Producer Salim had planned to release The Murderer before Jimmy on January 25, 2008 along with Hrithik Roshan’s Jodhaa-Akbar. But Mimoh’s dad Mithun Chakraborty did not like it. He wanted Jimmy to release first and had requested them to hold on The Murderer for a later release date”, he continued.
Talking about the various problems being faced by the production house, he added, “The producers had also planned their publicity material and they were banking on Mithun’s son being the crowd puller. The earlier publicity material said, ‘Watch out for Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mimoh in The Murderer.’ But after the failure of Jimmy, the producers have changed their mind. The new promos read ‘The makers of Loha, Batwara, Qayamat, Jigar, Aa Gale Lag Jaa, Baazi, Raja Ki Aayegi Baarat and Badal - all Silver Jubilee hits, are ready with their next block buster The Murderer’. They are worried that Mimoh will no longer attract the audience since his debut venture failed miserably. They are trying to pull the audience with the names of their Silver Jubilee hit films instead.”

What happened to Kumar Guarave after his super hit debut Love Story? He just did not exist after,it is an instance, speaking of Mimoh,so what if his first film didn’t do well,he is so talented and a good dancer and eventually he will make it big,i hope Hamilton Palace will be a hit,i rely on Salim Akhtar who infact give us several hits in the past so Murderer will be another example.Wishing Mimoh all the success in his career.
