Mirchi Movies Limited, the filmed entertainment arm of the Times Group has signed Viji, the much sought after writer-director of the recently released ‘Vellithirai.’ Their first project together will go on the floors in September 2008.
Vellitherai received rave reviews and the film has been appreciated by audiences across Tamil Nadu.
Beyond the South States, Vellitherai had the widest release in North India with almost thirty screens in the first week.

In the past, Viji had written dialogues for the immensely successful ‘Mozhi’ and he had also played an important role in the dialogues of ‘Majaa’, ‘M.Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi’ etc.

Mirchi Movies Limited is an independent production house that has acquired the remake rights of the Malayalam blockbuster ‘ Chocolate’ and has also signed the promising young director Milind Rau, former assistant to Mani Ratanam for a film called ‘Kaadhal 2 Kalyanam’.
