Tom Hanks is being inundated with offers to become the next president of the Philippines.

The Forrest Gump star is constantly being asked to take charge of the Southeast Asian country whenever he visits.

Hanks, who is about to celebrate his 20th wedding anniversary with wife Rita Wilson, admits the offer of presidency is a far cry from his first ever job of selling soft drinks at baseball games.

Since selling hot dogs, Hanks, 51, has become one of the world’s most successful actors – winning the Best Actor Oscar twice – but insists he’s just been lucky.
