Movie Artistes Association Secretary and comedian Mallikarjuna Rao fell seriously ill on Saturday and his family immediately shifted him to the Apollo hospital in Jubilee Hills. Unfortunately the overexcited news channels flashed the news that he died of heart attack and the CM had offered condolences.

The hospital authorities condemned the news and said the artiste was indeed serious but the news that he expired was not true. Mallikarjuan Rao who worked in over 370 films is popular for his role in Ladies Tailor as Battala Satyam.

The industry rushed to the hospital following the news on the channels but were relieved on knowing that he was alive. Naga Babu who is President of the MAA said he would take atleast a week’s time to recover and is currently under the supervision of the doctors.
