Top gun bar gutted by fire

The San Diego, California bar where Tom Cruise crooned YOU’VE LOST THAT LOVING FEELING in TOP GUN has been gutted by fire.

The blaze, which started on Thursday afternoon (26Jun08) spread quickly through the building and took firefighters 20 minutes to contain.

San Diego Fire-Rescue Department spokesman Maurice Luque estimates the damage to be over $350,000 (GBP175,000).

Film props and photographs from Top Gun were destroyed in the fire.
