Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na – Impressive film to watch

It’s a clichĂ© when it comes to script of love story between young buddies and we have seen whole lot flicks based on similar themes. But, you know it for sure when Aamir Khan picks up a script, it has something interesting. Of course, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is a refreshing film especially for the teens: it has whole lot of fun, frolic and emotions. Debutant Imran Khan deserves a pat on his shoulder not just because his uncle Aamir Khan has launched him, because his performance is so nice and really naturalistic… Genelia marking success with in Southern land hops into Bollywood and she has the same comments for spelling out rich performance.

Let’s not stick to the comments now. Take a glimpse through the synopsis…

The tale centers on close friends Jai (Imran Khan) and Aditi (Genelia) in college and they are genitive on each other. It may seem like they are in love, but that’s not the kind of relationship they carry on. They care and long for each other spelling out a precise embodiment of friendship. Of course, their deep friendship leads to nothing, but misconception of their parents and friends that they are in love. They aren’t bothered about what the world says and after sometime, it’s time for them to search their perfect match. However, later they realize that real love isn’t something getting paired with a person who is perfect, but it’s all about leading a happy life with an imperfect pardner.

The line of friendship presented here falls partially on the lines of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (sort of friendship shared by Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol). As adverted, the tale may seem to be an ordinary one, but Director Abbas Tyrewala delivers it with a much peppy fashionable trend. Commendable directorial makes the film look more perfect and Aamir Khan proves of his excellence in opting the right scripts. (Kollywood producers probably can approach Aamir to help them out in picking up the right scripts).

What makes this film so special? It’s so simple. Abbas blending together rib-trickling comedy with romance, naturalistic performance by all the star-casts especially by Imran and Genelia and non-dramatic sequences makes Jaane Tu Ya Jaanena more perfect…

The film has nothing to deal with blatant flaws except few aspects. Abbas Tyrewala should have focused on the maintaining the pace in screenplay. The film opens with moderately and later picks up the pace and again drops down in couple of scenes before climax.

Getting on with star-casts, Imran looks more apt with well-tailored role of Jai in terms of attitude. But he fails to deliver expressions, but later gets improvised in his act. Well, in all the films that have Genelia in the female lead, she eclipses the heroes with her performance. Spotted with young bubbly looks, she fits the bill and this film is sure to be her benchmark in Bollywood. Naseeruddin Shah and Rathna Pathak as Imran’s parents carry film on their shoulders with their feather-light performance.

A.R. Rahman is there again working out magic for Aamir Khan. Much similar to the theme, the music too goes more naturalistic. ‘Pappu Can’t Dance Saala’ is a great treat for the party hunters and ‘Jaane Mere There Kya Tha’ is a brilliant piece of melody. Editing turns out to be a bit of negative attribute, since there are fast cuts here and there that may get you bit distracted.

Hats off to Ashley Rebello for the excellent trendy costumes designed for the young buddies and that takes on special attention in the film.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na marks good opening for Imran Khan and Genelia D’Souza and one more feather for Producer Aamir Khan.
