Florence Brudenell-Bruce, a popular British model and a face of John Lewis swimwear brand, plays Saif Ali Khan’s girlfriend in a Bollywood movie.
That movie happens to be director Imtiaz Ali ’s next untitled project that stars Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles and is being co-produced by Saif.
22-year-old Florence (fondly called Flee) plays Saif’s British girlfriend in the film. She also shakes her leg with the actor in an elaborate song.
Flee, who has dated Formula One celebrity driver Jenson Button for over two years, says she has had a dream of acting in movies for a long time. So when she learnt that a Bollywood director was doing auditions in London for the role of Saif’s British girlfriend in a Hindi movie, she decided to give it a shot.
After just two auditions Flee got a call from the film’s producers, confirming that she had bagged the role.
In fact, Flee was shooting for the film in Delhi recently and she was also spotted at the fashion week in the capital.
Having been a regular model in Britain for over four years, Flee is pretty comfortable facing the camera, but acting in a film (and that too a Hindi one) was certainly a challenge.
Firstly, she was completely ignorant about Bollywood and decided to watch a few flicks. She reportedly saw and liked the English versions of Guru and Om Shanti Om . She also saw Saif’s Race and liked his performance in it.
As of now, Flee is headed back to home in London. But she does make it clear that she is open to working in more Bollywood films, if there are good offers.
