2008 has been a good musical year with many haunting music albums like Vaaranam Aayiram, Dhaam Dhoom, Sakkarakatti, Bheema, Sathyam, Silambattam, Kaadhalil Vizhundhen, Subramaniapuram, Dhasavatharam, etc.,
This year, two songs hold the first position due to the popularity. AR Rahman’s Taxi Taxi with full energy has been an anthem for all the youths. After a long hiatus, AR Raman was back with a bang and captured the hearts of youth. In couple of months released the Vaaranam Aayiram music by Harris Jayaraj, which became an instant hit. All the songs are rocking even now. Though all the songs are excellent, Adiyae Kolluthae is the pick of the album which leads the top 25 and so Taxi Taxi from Sakkarakatti.

It has to be noted that, out of 25 top songs most of the songs are by Harris Jayaraj and Yuvan Shankar Raja. On gauging the quality, Harris Jayaraj has to be best music composer of 2008. If Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed his best as 7G Rainbow Colony or AR Rahman has composed for big banner or good movies with strong screenplay and story, either Yuvan or Ar Rahman would have been the best music composer of 2008. Harris Jayaraj is good in selecting the movies and he offers the best, which is his secret of success. AR Rahman, Yuvan Shankar Raja and others should concentrate more on choosing quality movies. Only then their good music will spell success. Else their hard work goes for vain.

Good selection. Both Taxi and Adiae Kolluthae deserves to be the first…. Good work by Rahman and Jayaraj
