South beauty Priyamani, who’s very busy in Tamil and Telugu films, has signed her first Kannada film.
Ironically, Priyamani grew up in Bangalore and can speak Kannada fluently. She even started her modelling career in Bangalore before Tamil filmmaker Bharathi Raja spotted her and introduced her in ‘Kangalaal Kaithu Sey’.
Now that she has carved her niche in Kollywood and Tollywood, Priyamani is foraying into Kannada cinema with producer Adithya Babu’s film ‘Raam’ opposite Puneet Raj Kumar.
Priyamani, who won the National Award for her performance in Tamil film Paruthiveeran , had recently told the reporters in Bangalore that she was looking forward to doing a Kannada film soon.
“I was approached by directors like Sunil Kumar Desai. Even a year ago I was offered a Kannada film with Ganesh. But I was very busy in Telugu films that did not allow me to take up these projects. But I would like to work in a Kannada film at the earliest,” Priyamani had said.
Producer Bharathi Raja says ‘Raam’ is a full-on entertainer. The film’s shooting schedule had to be adjusted to suit Priyamani’s dates.
