Yash Raj Films launches the most fascinating DVD of ‘RAB NE BANA DI JODI’. Possibly, the film wouldn’t have worked for the stunning magical spells as in ‘DDLJ’ in box office. But when it comes in as a package of home videos, our verdict ‘Better Buy it’….

‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ – The film doesn’t need more intros of what is it all about. Well then, here’s a small glimpse over synopsis.

Synopsis

You might have a love story to tell? Maybe not!! How can an ordinary man have a breathtaking, goose flesh igniting, awe inspiring, love story of all things to tell…

But guess what – love doesn’t differential the ordinary and exceptional, the uninteresting and interesting, the unattractive and attractive. Because love knows no distinction. It can happen to anyone and once it does it engulfs us into it completely and gives us those miraculous experiences that only love can yield…

This is what happened to Surinder Sahni (Shah Rukh Khan) – a simple, clean hearted, honest man working for Punjab Power, leading a humdrum life, when he meets his total opposite and finds love in the flamboyant, fun-loving, vivacious -  Taani (Anushka Sharma) for whom the whole world is her canvas and she paints her own life with the colors of rainbow all until unforeseen circumstances changes it all and brings them together…

What follows is a journey brimmed with laughter, tears, joy, pain, music, dance and a lot of love. A journey that makes us believe that there is an extraordinary love story in every ordinary jodi…

The DVD Package goes inclusive with Double Disc that has the best entertainment factors.

Disc 1 – Feature Film

As clichéd, there isn’t much you get to view here in the first Disc. It contains the most top-notching visuals of anamorphic presentation for the entire film with a running length of 2Hrs, 44mins. Well, when it comes to sound quality, it has best options of 5.1 Dolby Digital Sound and Optional Stereo Sound. The film has been provided with couple of sets for subtitles: International and Regional ones with English, Arabic, and Dutch to Tamil and Telugu. Much before few minutes of film commences, there’s a colorful promo of Yash Raj’s forthcoming attraction ‘NEW YORK’ starring John Abraham, Neil Nithin Mukesh and Katrina Kaif in lead roles.

Disc 2 – Special Features

Embellishing this package is this Disc that goes more than 70mins. Here goes the exclusive look on what special this DVD contains…

Making of the film – 45mins

This takes us to the most exotic on-locations spots where we’ll watch King Khan on his actions, the stupefying missy Anushka working on her dance and dialogue deliveries. More than, it’s really interesting to catch a look on how each cast and crew perceived the film before kick-starting with it and what they’re actually working on…


SRK Unplugged – 15mins

Trust us!! It’s best ever highlighting feature that will grab everyone’s attention. Shah Rukh Khan unplugged is patently about Shah Rukh speaking about Two Roles – Suri and Raj. Everyone has a Suri and Raj in themselves. So where he did get inspired with his characterizations of Suri and Raj in RNBDJ? SRK says, “It all happened when I was shooting my television show ‘Panchvi Kaksha’ where I had to go through couple of different people. Of course, I need to fervently thank these guys for having inspired me”.

Indeed, that isn’t the end of this session. There are whole lot of things about SRK discusses including why Suri doesn’t say ‘I LOVE YOU’ even once to his wife as Raj does it just like that.

More than all, the interesting part is that SRK speaks about all the girls he has paired up with from OSO, CKI and RNBDJ…

Precisely, there’s something that script writers would love to take it as their mantra that SRK quotes – “Imagination is something wonderful… It can take you anywhere”.

Deleted Scenes – 10mins

On the dots, there are particular sequences that will make you feel why they didn’t appear on the screens. And for the rest, you wouldn’t feel so and those shots have been just picked away as they’re unwanted ones.

1. Suri and Taani arrive in Amritsar and station master welcomes them.
2. Taani prepares breakfast for Suri…
3. Bobby gets emotional.
4. Taani tells Suri that she has lied.
5. Taani talks about her dad to Raj

SRK and Anushka in conversation – 25mins

This wouldn’t something new to those who had caught this exclusive on Zoom Television. Nevertheless, it’s quite commendable as well enjoyable on many portions. Especially, when Anushka jocularly adds ‘I hate Raj’s character… He’s so vulgar’.

Theatrical Trailers & Promos – (60 sec version) – 8mins

This compiles all the aired promos and theatrical trailers…. Goes inclusive of exclusive theatrical trailer, Haule Haule song promo, Dance Pe Chance as well Chalte Chalte and Tuj Mein Rab Diktha Hai… The rest is about talkie portions trimmed for promos after the film’s release.

Making of Haule Haule/ Dance Pe Chance/ Chalte Chalte  – Approx 20mins

Doubtlessly, these melodies swept off our senses so delightedly. Forever, Haule Haule and Dance Pe Chance would be on the track lists of our mobiles and I-pods. Thusly, here are the enchanting vistas over in this package. We’re straight onto the shooting spots of Haule Haule, Dance Pe Chance and Chalte Chalte – the song that brings SRK shaking legs with Kajol, Preity Zinta, Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta and Rani Mukherji….

Verdict:  So, here’s our special recommendation for all those who’re thinking about picking a copy. Incisively, we had reviewed the film to be off mediocre. But that hasn’t got anything to do with your idea about going for the DVD. It’s an excellent package for the reasonable price of Rs. 400/-
