Meiporul – Convincingly different
Looks like, this weekend is a perfect exemplification for ‘Tamil Cinema shifting with transcendence to next level’. Ah! One should really watch all the three releases without fail. They aren’t so grandiloquent in all terms exceeding your expectations. But, they are an appreciative piece of works that naturally doesn’t carry the names of either superstars or leading technicians. More than all, ‘Meiporul’ hasn’t got any experienced persons on the screens or behind the lens. Yet, they have come up with a good piece of work. This film has been carried through with a typical-Hollywood style of narration that starts off the tale with a cool mood-slightly raising your adrenalines and an unexpected climax with mysterious truth unraveled.
‘Mei Porul’ (A True Meaning) goes more interesting in second half as the grip goes more tightly.
The film centers on couple of characters: Devi (Anusha), a good-going-journalist employed in one of the best Tamil Magazines of United States and her neurosurgeon Husband Sam (Krish Bala). On a particular point, Devi rescues an Indian Child who gets kidnapped by a foreign lady. Out of questions, Devi is praised for her heroism and turns to be the talk of town.
Devi, Sam – lovable couples’ lives are intervened with grappling situations once Sam runs into Gowtham Raja (Natty). Both Sam and Raja get on for good friendship. But problem arises when Raja starts predicting the future with his ESP. Later, Things break loosened out of hell, when Raja says Sam that he will be bumped off on August 10 and his wife Devi would be the cause of it.
Watch the rest on screens that’s bounded with more thrills and chills especially during the penultimate and climax part.
Though on many part, certain actors don’t get well on a matured performance, the others have leaped out with a laudable show sans portraying their debut strike. Technically, the entire film shot on HD-version may be something new to Tamil Audiences. But the innovative placements of angles and exotic locations are brilliant. Songs go hummable but picturing them should’ve been yet more convincing. Be it, Journal’s head or Devi’s opponent, they are terribly lack enunciating at their best. Precisely, they could’ve rendered English as it happens in US.
Apart from these small blatant flaws, ‘Mei Porul’ is an overall perfect show with new innovative theme. We recommend you to watch this film, if you are on the pursuit of a different piece of work.
