Kulir 100 Degree – Tamil Movie Review

Kulir 100 Degree – Visually perfect, but flimsy tale

kulir-100-degreeKulir 100 Degree isn’t actually an interesting movie, but you can watch it once if you aren’t bounded to any expectations. Previous week’s release hasn’t been as exciting as ‘Thoranai’ was a great disappointment, while this week it’s quite middling. Couple of releases ‘Mayandi Kudumbathar’ and ‘Kulir 100 Degree’ with completely contrastive genres has hit screens.

Let’s first check the synopsis of Kulir 100 Degree and get on for a vivid analysis of it.

Sanjeev (Surya) is much distressed with his mother’s separation with dad (Aditya). As his mother fears that Sanjeev too may turn to be a rowdy like her husband, she sends him off to continue his study in Lake View Boarding School of Ooty. Over there he meets his friend Babloo (Bobo Sashi) and girlfriend Taaniya (Rupa) who offer him an invigorating life in school. But his seniors at 12th std are much troublesome taking him to serious tasks. Vowing to be a good boy to his mom, Sanjeev doesn’t raise his hands on them. But unfortunately, when his friend Babloo is murdered, Sanjeev has to settle the scores as he has to witness an unexpected tragedy finally.

Newcomer Sanjeev does his best on spelling better performance while Rupa is cute as a Barbie doll and doesn’t suit the space well. She has to work a lot on emoting to various situations and more. Music Director Bobo himself enacting the Babloo role is good, but Anita Udeep doesn’t deliver any much of humor on him. Likewise, even the romance quotients are so mediocre that it fails to attract the audiences.

Apart from technical aspects, Anita Udeep seems to have let her mind lose out not planning for a gripping tale. It’s not an abroad where you’ll find the 12th standard students ragging their juniors and Students Council is really absurd. An suspended boy from 11th at Chengalpet Corporation School getting scholarship at South Asia’s best School is again quite unbelievable. The film goes quite flimsy on screenplay and Anita should’ve presented it yet more entertainingly. Musical score by Bobo is convincing and especially the song ‘Manasellam’ is a good score.

LK Vijay’s camera is extraordinary that keeps audiences’ eyes fixed on the screens.

On the whole, we’re sure Anita Udeep will make good waves in Tamil film industry if she just corrects these minimal blatant flaws on her debut film.

Anita, you’ve got the innovative style on presenting things visually colorful. All the best for your next flick!

  1. Abdul Said,

the film is definitely good.. i think whoever wrote this review needs to see the film again.. First of all, there was no love between sanjeev and riya (its not rupa).. they were just good friends.. then how can u expect them to romance..??? you are insulting friendship.. secondly, what is unbelievable about a suspended student getting scholarship..? in the scene when sanjeev dissects a frog, his teacher acknowledges the fact that he is intelligent.. moreover he joins the school on the recommendations of Babloo’s parents.. so the principal would have given him a scholarship based on his academic record and his trust on babloo’s parents..
thirdly, as for calling student council an absurd thing, its baseless.. student councils do exist in posh schools.. and i was part of the student council in my school in Chennai.. so before making a remark, kindly do some research on the field.. guys like u make a good film look like crap..
