Salman Khan is finally set to do a film with Yashraj Films, if the buzz is to be believed. He has so far shunned offers from the banner despite being approached many times in the past.
It is believed that Shimit Amin’s film ‘Chak De India’ was first offered to Salman, but the actor didn’t like the pay package on the plate. Later, he was approached again for leading role in ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’, but this time too things couldn’t materialize. YRF is not known to pamper its actors with fat pay packages, and Salman was known to command one of the highest acting fees in Bollywood back then.
In fact, grapevine has it that the relations between Salman and Aditya Chopra, the YRF honcho, soured after these failed attempts to work together.
So now, what has caused the turning of the tide?
It’s actress Rani Mukherjee, Salman’s good friend and Aditya’s very, very good friend, who has managed to do the impossible and convince Salman to act in a Yashraj film.
Reports say the movie will be directed by Tashan director Vijay Krishna Acharya. It’s not clear whether Salman will have a full-fledged role in the film or just a cameo because no confirmation has come from YRF yet.
