Yes, our desi girl Priyanka Chopra will be in Toronto for the 34th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) next month as her movie What’s Your Raashee? is going to make its world premiere there. Among the guests at the fest will be the debonair Hollywood star George Clooney. But will the two get to meet and greet? Dunno yet.
Besides ‘What’s Your Rashee?’, Yashraj Films Dil Bole Hadippa will also premiere at the illustrious festival. Rani Mukherjee and director Anurag Singh have been invited, so are Lisa Ray, Harman Baweja, Abhay Deol, Bengali director Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Deepa Mehta’s brother Dilip Mehta, documentary maker Vikram Jayanti and Ashutosh Gowariker, but Shahid Kapur’s name is missing from the list that boasts of around 500 celebrities.
Hollywood actress, Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut ‘Whip It!’ will also be showcased at the festival. The guest list includes names like Hugh Hefner, founder of Playboy, actress Demi Moore, talk show host Oprah Winfrey, Nicolas Cage, Penelope Cruz, Michael Douglas, Sir Ridley Scott, Kevin Spacey and Keanu Reeves.
Last year, the Toronto fest had Indian films like Vipul Shah’s Singh Is Kinng and Deepa Mehta’s Heaven On Earth making their world premieres. This year, along with two Bollywood films, there are 335 films from 64 countries to be screened at the festival.
