Newyork – DVD Review
Here comes the biggest bonanza to emblazon your homes. With most of this year’s Bollywood releases turning down our hopes, ‘NEWYORK’ made a great time in box office. Usually, Yash Raj Films doesn’t launch the home videos not less than 4 months and ‘NEWYORK’ offers a great elatedness for the filmy buffs as it has been released within couple of months after theatrical release.
NEWYORK isn’t a tale of happy-go-lucky youngsters who never had any problems in their lives until a shocking incident changed their lives. The film reflects the real life incident of New York where thousands of non-Americans were tortured as US general victimized as suspects behind 9/11 attack….
SYNOPSIS
The film opens with FBI Agents breaking into the room of an Indian Immigrant Omar (Neil Nithin Mukesh) and capturing him as terrorist. Immediately, you’ve An Indian FBI Agent Roshan interrogating Omar about his past. There begins the flashback sequences of Omar’s college days where he comes across College –Hero Sam aka Sameer (John Abraham) and hottie Maaya (Katrina Kaif). They’re good friends and keep chilling out every time. But Omar is thrown into disappointments once he gets to know Maaya is in love with Sameer. It’s on the day of 9/11 Attack and Omar decides not to meet any of them from on. It’s been 7 years now…
As the interrogation proceeds, Omar has his heart stopped pumping for few moments once Roshan informs him that Sam is none other than a terrorist. Immediately, Omar is appointed as undercover agent for FBI and gets back into the lives of Maaya and Sameer who dad-mum of a child Daniel. But sooner, Omar has something to unravel that will tear his spirits down.
The film ends with a heart-wretched climax and yet a convincing message at an end.
DVD PACKAGING:
Unlike their previous packaging for ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, the case jewel is easy to handle. That’s the first and foremost happy news for the customers.
The packaging consists of 2 set DVDs: First one with feature film of 2.5hrs and second one with special features.

It’s a magniloquent experience about watching the special features with a running length of 2.5hrs. Well, the viewers will have more things to pick as they go through it. Especially, ‘Making of the film’ was is so special as we are taken straight into the sets of breathtaking sequences involving John Abraham getting down from 46th street. Apart from that there is more comradeliness-chat between John Abraham-Katrina Kaif- Neil Nithin Mukesh.
There isn’t anything about clichéd chit-chat where the stars share their Maamul talk on ‘It was a nice experience working with you…’
Well, there are some interesting quotients where the actors and team members are spotted playing baseball and cricket together after their shooting. And the biggest sensational attraction comes through the ‘Remix video of ‘Hai Junoon’ and ‘Mere Sang’….

DELETED SCENES:
There are around 6-7 deleted scenes that will make you really feel why they were deleted from the main film. Say for example, Neil’s first day in office, few light-hearted scenes between Irrfan and Neil Nithin and more off that sort are quite interesting to watch.
