Eeram – Interesting in bits and pieces
Director Shankar holds a special mention as a producer. Yeah! The auteur has been keen on churning out best quality films on his part. Maybe, he’s far-famed for burning candles at both the ends when it comes to his own directorial. But the moviemaker remains so smart in making low investments for the best scripts and takes a cake walk with huge profit.
It has been much exemplifying with his previous productions and precisely ‘Eeram’ isn’t an elision.
Mark our words! The film will make it big in B and C centres and may look forward for a lukewarm response from ‘A’ centre.
If you’re guessing for this fine verdict: kindly glimpse through the synopsis and later with analysis….
It’s an appalling situation for ACP Vasu (Aadhi) to witness his ex-girlfriend Ramya (Sindhu Menon) found dead drenched in waters of her bathtub. With evidences including a final note penned by Ramya herself implies that she has committed suicide, cops aren’t straining themselves anymore on the case. When things are going windup, Vasu goes instigated emotionally to handle the case. As he inquires her neighbors and indeed her husband Prabhu (Nanda), they come up with a shocking statement that she had an extra-marital affair with a stranger who used to visit the apartment regularly once her husband is left for the job.
But nothing stops Vasu going ahead with his own investigations. But sooner, he’s shocked to find that neighbors, the stranger (who was linked with Ramya) and watchman in the apartments as well are getting killed mysteriously as Ramya.
With Vasu proceeding towards the verge, he’s again shocked to find these mysterious murders.
He isn’t sure about who the actual killer is? But, he’s aware about the weapons used on victims… H20 – Water.
It’s a complete surprisal from ‘Mirugam’ fame Aadhi. The young actor who spotted himself in wild, rough look has completely transformed him into a smart looking and fit cop. He emotes well to the different situations. Be it the soft-poignant scenes he shares with Sindhu Menon or the puzzled cop in the latter half, he excels with perfection. When it comes to Nanda, a completely new-fangled role is a good attempt by the not-so lucky star. He does come up interesting role. Hats off to Sindhu Menon! The girl from God’s own country is sure to make it big in homely characters at mere future. Saranya Mohan, who would overreact in most of her previous films, has showcased a matured performance. Sreenath’s role a practical guy is a good show.
When the entire star casts have done a good job, Arivazhagan doesn’t lag behind. He has crafted a spellbinding screenplay where flashbacks and present moments have been interwoven stupendously. But, he seems to have directly lifted more sequences from Hollywood supernatural thrillers. We don’t want to reveal those sequences as it would gradually lose out your interest. The screenplay turns to be slightly dragging in the latter part, particularly with long flashbacks and not-so thrilling moments. But the pace picks up in the penultimate sequences. As in many elite group of audiences, they would have watched those Hollywood flicks and naturally loose out their attention. Nonetheless, in single screens of towns and down south, this may be a new flick to experience…
Cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa is extraordinary with innovative camera angles. Musical score by Thaman is average while the background score add to the best of psychological aspects.
Finally, we advice you to watch this film without any expectations and just to kill your time.
