Looks like Tamil film industry is quite fed-up portraying the same actors over and again with the stereotypical villain roles. Say for instance, Prakash Raj has almost starred opposite every leading actor in negative role with clichéd dialogues of – Chellam and such lines of that sort.
Naturally, as our filmmakers are concerned about finding new actresses, they’ve indeed started roping in new actors the villainous characterizations.
Earlier, before few years cinematographer K.V. Anand made his debut directorial with ‘Kana Kandein’. The film had Malayalam film industry’s charming actor Prithviraj in negative role and that won him a grand welcome in film industry.
Later in course of time, actor Prashanth had announced about performing negative role in R.K. Selvamani’s untitled film that hasn’t taken off yet.
Surya’s ‘Ayan’ directed by K.V. Anand marked the debut of Mumbai based model Akashdeep Saigal. The actor had an equally prominent role as Surya.
Yesteryear romantic hero Suman made his comeback as a rocking baddie in Rajnikanth starrer ‘Sivaji – The Boss’. Later, he starred opposite Vijay, Ajith Kumar in the same roles.
Vijay’s yet to release ‘Vettaikaran’ has Salim Ghosh playing the baddie role and his ongoing project ‘Sura’ ropes in ‘Magadheera’ fame Dev Gille in the same character.
Superstars like Rajnikanth, Kamal Haasan have opted for dual roles as protagonists and baddies. It was illustrious with Kamal Haasan’s ‘Dasavatharam’ and Rajnikanth’s upcoming magnum opus ‘Endhiran’ has himself in both the roles though Danny Denzongpa is the main baddie.
