Venkat Prabhu’s ‘Goa’ marks the debut of Soundarya Rajnikanth as a producer. Well, she had already commenced her production works for ‘Sultan – The Warrior’, which has been shelved due to financial constraints.
Recently, a Chennai based building contractor filed a petition against Soundarya Rajnikanth. In his statement, he admits that Soundarya had received a sum or Rs 1.6Crores and has failed to return it.
Soundarya Rajnikanth had signed on a promissory note for the amount of Rs. 1Crores while she just inked on dotted lines for the other Rs.50Lakhs (it happens to be the personal money of the contractor) on a letter. She had agreed to pay back the amount with an interest of 24%. But till now, she hasn’t returned the big sum and he had no options other than drawing this issue into court.
Now, Madras High Court has granted temporary ban of production works of ‘Goa’ till December 11.
