With certain films – ‘Paruthiveeran’ and ‘Subramaniapuram’ marked as trenchant pieces in Tamil film industry, many films have been continuously churned out in the prototyped manner.
It was ridiculous to see many films being made on similar touch with Madurai slang. Well, today’s release ‘Renigunta’ has been too reported off the same genre. But director Panneer Selvam denies it saying, “The film’s storyline is set in backdrops of various places. Though Madurai would be one of the prominent places in the film, there isn’t much to do with it. Even we’ll have only one guy uttering dialogues with Madurai Tamil and not others…â€
The film is about 5 juvenile criminals breaking loose out a Madurai Prison and getting into a train destined for Mumbai… But a situation urges them to get down at Renigunta Railway Station and what unfolds next is a series of unexpected encounters of these young criminals.
