Recently, Surya had expressed his wish about working with ace filmmaker Lingusamy over the occasion of ‘Paiyya’ audio launch. But it wasn’t merely about shooting the breeze as Surya was really serious about it.
It has been so evident in the past and present strategy of Surya…
The actor has been so smart in refusing the offers of debut filmmakers and later requests them ardently to make a film for them.
Lingusamy approached Surya to act in one of the brother’s role in ‘Anandham’ (for the role enacted by Abbas). But he stepped out of the project after Bala offered him ‘Nanda’. Lingusamy was so lenient and again approached him for ‘Run’. But results were the same and this filmmaker was so frustrated with him.
Now the actor has been knocking the doors of Lingusamy to narrate a script for him. But the moviemaker has no plans about heeding to his request.
In the past, scenarios were same when Vishnuvardhan approached Surya for a film (Supposedly reported to be ‘Sarvam’). Though, the actor had almost accepted to sign on dotted lines, he stepped out at the 12th hour and started shooting for Gowtham Menon’s ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’. But at once, when ‘Billa’ turned to be a blockbuster at box office, Surya continued making phone calls to Vishnuvardhan and enquired the status of that project.
It was a commendable backlash from Vishnuvardhan as he said that Aarya is already into the project and he has no plans on working with him.
Hope! Surya transforms himself with this particular trait, for the same filmmakers cannot repeat the success formulas again (just like Gowtham Menon’s ‘Kaaka Kaaka’ making it big and ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’ flunking at box office collections)…
