The films released in this year had raised our hopes right from the mid-of-2008. But they’re big letdowns as most of them didn’t savor to the tastes of audiences on any panoramas. Akshay Kumar happens to be a big loser for the season as all his 4 films flunked in box office.
1. Billu: Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ that was released in Dec 2008 had disastrous results. Literally, King Khan had mounted more hopes on ‘Billu’ – a remake of Malayalam movie ‘Katha Parayum Pol’ and Rajnikanth’s ‘Kuselan’.
2. Chandni Chowk to China: With almost all his films in 2008 being blockbusters, Akshay had his very own market as Khans and other superstars. CC2C was shot in exotic locations of China and had fantastic martial arts treat for buffs. But unfortunately, it didn’t do well due to flimsy screenplay.
3. Dil Bole Hadippa: The teasers were pretty colorful; Shahid-Rani sizzled with their chemistry. But the film had terrifying results for an unconvincing script.
4. Aa Dekhen Zara: This was a supernatural thriller ala Final Destination and Premonition films in Hollywood. But it never had any reasons to be on the list of successful films. Too tenuous narration and boring script left the audiences annoyed.
5. Blue: A big banner, superstars on title cards and maestro A.R. Rahman scoring music. It was enough to kindle everyone’s prospects over the film and then results were same as the other movies in the list.
6. Main Aur Mrs. Khanna: Salman Khan’s ‘Wanted’ turned to be a big grosser and now everyone eyed on this film that was too irksome.
7. What’s Your Raashee: When Priyanka became the ‘Kaminey’ girl, she kept everyone focused on her. Though she drew big appreciations for her 12role acts, the film was a flop due to long duration lacking with valuable contents.
8. Luck By Chance: The film had so many reasons to be successful. Presence of almost all the superstars of B-town in cameo roles. But the complete presentation of film was so vague and the climax wasn’t convincing.
9. Tum Mile: Set in the backdrops of July 26, 2005Â where heavy rampage of rain broke through the city, the film featured Eeram Hasmi and Soha Ali Khan in lead roles. The songs by Pritham were mind-boggling, but poor visuals and not-so good screenplay stopped the film from striking jackpot.
10. London Dreams: Know what? This could be the ever biggest disappointment for all. It had more factors to be ascertained as best film, but fell short of expectations for various reasons.
