Amit- The American-Indian director to direct ‘Blemished Light’

Amit Kumar reveals about his upcoming movie, ‘Blemished Light’, which has Victor Bannerjee in the lead. Amit is an Americam-Indian director and says that his movie’s title ‘Blemished Light’ comes from transliteration of Faiz Ahmad Faiz poem ‘Ye Dagh Dagh Ujala Ye Shab Ghazida Sahar’.
He says, “The story of ‘Blemished Light’ developed from a desire to express the lack of freedom within and the struggle against, the most dominating social structures of our time – Capitalism and Patriarchy. In our world, mass extermination and discrimination happen in the name of ‘identity’.”
On asking about his lead actor he said that Victor Banerjee obviously has a screen presence and he is a perfect fit for the role. He is excited about what seems to have driven him to play this part is the opportunity to perform as a character he has not played before. Victor readily accepted to do the film after reading the script.
The director said that Alyy Khan and Ankur Vikal also showed immediate enthusiasm about the script. Bhanu Uday plays a central character and has been preparing for this role for over three months now.
